Ministries
Word in Action Outreach
Our focus is to, without partiality, assist families within the community that acknowledge their need for help by extending support as an act of love to meet both their spiritual and natural needs. Matthew 25:35-40 says "For I was hungry, and ye give me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
We address the immediate need at hand, be it spiritual, physical or emotional, by giving support within our capacity and by further engaging the assistance of other service providers in the event that our ministry is unable to provide the individual or family with the need at hand.
Our target audience includes individuals and families who, due to financial lack, marital discord, or physical & emotional challenges, find themselves displaced from permanent housing and therefore have to live and raise a family within the confines of a shelter or extended stay facility. Also individuals and families who have housing but due to a decrease in finance cannot support the needs of the family.
For the past 5 years, SBDC, as we are fondly called, has, on a monthly basis, provided hot home-cooked meals for over 70 people who have called the extended stay hotels home. In addition, we have serviced countless individuals and families within the Gwinnett County area with groceries; transportation to and from medical appointments and church services & activities (as requested) and, the supermarket; emergency rent and utility assistance; and gas cards, to name a few. Spiritual encouragement, reading material, prayers, weekly phone contact and periodic face to face visits are also provided to assist families in the process of recovery.
Almost 90% of the individuals and families that we assist are referred to us via word- or- mouth. The other 10% comes from perusing the phone directory and the Gwinnett helpline.
Our goal is to continue to engage the community by being a part of the solution to the various needs of its people. For a community is only as strong as the spiritual and economic health of the families who reside within it.
Procedure:
1. All families or individuals will, without discrimination to ethnicity or religious background or affiliation be listened to upon contacting us.2. The individual will be asked to come into the office to complete a simple needs assessment form or a representative/volunteer will be sent out to meet with the individual or family (if transportation is not available) if necessary.
3. The needs assessment form provides us with pertinent information that will help to determine eligibility or the ministry's ability to meet the need.
4. Upon the determination that the ministry is able to meet the need at hand, the individual will be provided the option of further ministry involvement which will help in the formulation of a possible service plan that will help with short-term and long-term goals that the outreach plan will be able to facilitate
5. Additional professional services needed that are not provided by the outreach ministry will be referred out to reputable community resources (i.e. Medical Doctor, Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Social Worker, Social Agencies, etc.)
Praise Dance Ministry
LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD... PRAISE HIM IN THE DANCE
The praise dance ministry is focused on worshipping God, as led by the Spirit of God. The music or songs are chosen based on the unction of the Holy Ghost. Every age group can be a part of the praise dance ministry, since it is not for dancers but “praisers” of God. S.B.D.C. praise dance ministry invites all its members to experience the sincerity of worshipping God in dance. Release oneself and allow the Spirit of God to lead and direct your steps, as you bask in the glory of God through dance!!!
Taking the Torch Ministry
Taking the Torch Ministry is committed to advancing the legacy of God’s vision for Snellville Biblical Deliverance Center by extending Outreach, Deliverance, and Discipleship to youth and young adults through His Word.
This ministry hopes to dispel the myth among the youth and young adult generation that a relationship with God is static and virtual. It is very much the contrary. Our relationship with Jesus Christ is an experience that dynamically grows throughout our lives. It is formed neither out of a religious spirit nor out of a series of impersonal rituals. Living for Christ is practical and applies to those who live today just as much as it did for those in biblical times. The magnitude of Christ’s power has not waned since the ancient of days and it is available to empower a young generation now!
This generation will come to know their purpose and that they are the future heirs of Christ’s church. In order to realize this destiny and inherit the vision, a true relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifelong commitment to learning His Word are required. Taking the Torch Ministry will prepare the next generation of leaders in both the church and community in such a way that when it is their season to take the torch of the vision, they will be found ready.
Children's Ministry
The Children's Ministry is designed to provide elementary age children with a safe, and loving environment as they are introduced and nurtured in the love of Jesus Christ. The children learn to express their love for God through praise & worship, arts and crafts, Bible verse memorization and many other activities.
Music & Worship Ministry
The goal of the music ministry team at Snellville Biblical Deliverance Center is to create an atmosphere of praise and worship that ushers in the presence of God.
