History

Snellville Biblical Deliverance (SBDC) was founded by Dr. Jason E. Owen. From its inception, SBDC has been providing Biblically-based deliverance through the simple, practical teaching of the Word of God.

Its Vision of "Outreach, Deliverance, Discipleship... through the Word of God" was given by God to Dr. Owen while he was residing in Brooklyn, NY and serving under the leadership of the late Bishop James F. Copeland.

In 1997, the Owen family relocated to Snellville, GA and subsequently in 1998, the vision was established with a Bible Study that was held around the kitchen table of the Owen's home. In attendance were Dr. Owen, his wife Janine and their three young sons. The Bible Study later grew to include eight other families. During the Ministry's tenure in the home, God was faithful. The foundation of the Ministry took form and its spiritual structure was erected. The Ministry has seen the miraculous move of God as He, through His word has brought deliverance into the lives of countless souls.

In 2005, Dr. Owen, being led by the Spirit of God, passed the mantle of shepherding SBDC to his wife, Janine A. Owen, as he pursued the apostolic call upon his life. The foundation laid by Dr. Jason E. Owen has paved the way for the Ministry to continue to grow and mature.

Under the leadership of Pastor Janine A. Owen, SBDC's main focus has been to take the church outside of its walls by going into the community and sharing the powerful, life-changing, destiny altering Word of God to anyone who would listen. Through this practical approach, many have come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. A countless number of believers that had once experienced devastating events that left them discouraged and at the verge of giving up, have been revived and restored to their first love and to the service of the Master once again. Hallelujah!!!

Thirteen years have passed since the first gathering around the kitchen table and God's continued faithfulness is astounding. 2011 has been a year of defiance and revolt against the kingdom of the enemy. Many lives have been saved and have grown into spiritual maturity as individuals have experienced the freedom that comes from the delivering power of the Word of God.

As we go forward into our 14th year, we with excitement anticipate a double measure of spiritual perfection as we continue to fulfill the commission of our Savior Jesus Christ; by going into our community, city, state, nation and the world at large to proclaim the gospel... Mark 16:20 says " And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with signs following."

Vision

The vision of Snellville Biblical Deliverance Center is Outreach, Deliverance, Discipleship through the Word of God. Our mandate is to go beyond the walls of the church and reach out to the world one community at a time with the life changing Word of God coupled with providing aid or serviced to meet the physical and emotional needs of individuals and families with whom we encounter.

To sum it all up our purpose is to see people delivered and empowered to lead productive lives within their home and the community in which they live.

Mark 16:20 says this "And they went forth, and preached everywhere , the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following."

Mission

To reach out to the community with the life changing word of God.

To provide aid or services and help that will liberate from sin and facilitate an overcoming life in Christ.

To teach all on how to become equipped with the spiritual/physical tools necessary for their development and maturity as individuals whose life have been purposed by God.

What We Believe

  • The Bible is the infallible Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, and is inspired by the Holy Ghost. 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12,13
  • There is one God, eternally existing in three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14
  • Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God became man, without ceasing to be God. Was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might unto man reveal God and redeem man from sin.John 1:1,2,14; Luke 1:35
  • Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross and, that our justification is made sure by His physical resurrection from the dead.Romans 3:24,25; 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5
  • Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is sitting at the right hand of God making intercession for us.Acts 1:9,10; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:43; 1 John 2:1-2
  • The Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. He teaches and guides believers into all truth; and that it is the privilege and duty of all who are saved to be filled with the Spirit.John 16:8-11, 13; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13,14; 1 John 2:20; Ephesians 5:18
  • Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but separated from God by sin. Without Jesus man cannot have a relationship with God.Genesis 1:26; 1 Timothy 2:5
  • Salvation is a gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in Jesus whose blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18,19
  • Divine healing is for today, through Jesus Christ, the Healer. Healing includes, physical, emotional and spiritual restoration.Luke 9:11; Matthew 9:35; Matthew 10:1
  • Water Baptism through immersion, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus Christ, as the way for believers to identify with His death, burial and resurrection.Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Matthew 3:13-17
  • Hell is a place of suffering and permanent separation from God for those who die without accepting Christ. God's desire is that no one be separated from Him for eternity, which is why He sent his Son, Jesus Christ to earth.Hebrews 9:27; John 3:16-18
  • Jesus will return to take all who have accepted Him as Savior to live with Him for eternity.Acts 1:11
